The Harmonium of Life and Death

The Harmonium of Life and Death Finding stillness within the movement of life The relentless speed of today’s world does not carry me forward; it holds me back. It leaves so little room for stillness that I sometimes feel it denies me the opportunity to participate in life in my own natural way. Even if I wished to join this race, I could not. Racing is simply not in my nature. I pause. I have always paused, and I believe I will continue to pause. But I will never race. Nor do I wish to learn how to swim merely to reach the shore everyone else is trying to reach. I can only drift. And even my drifting must happen in silence—not toward another shore, but deeper into the mystery of existence. The Disciple Hidden Within Me Every movement of life carries a lesson. Every event, relationship, silence, difficulty, and passing moment has something to teach me. When I become attentive to these movements, life transforms me into a disciple. I do not need to enter a classroom to learn from e...

The Womb of Creation: Time and the Timeless

Conceiving Existence 🌙 The Era of Nine Months 🌿 The Birth Beyond Time ✨ In The Womb of Creation , Harjinder Kaur reflects on pregnancy, time, and birth as cosmic metaphors for existence. Just as a mother carries life in silence, we too are fertile ground where the universe continuously plants its seeds. Every thought is a seed, every silence soil, every breath music, life itself is always conceiving, birthing both in time and beyond time. This poetic meditation invites us to see our lives not as fragments but as a living sutra of realization, in which the world and God are not two but one. “Every silence is a womb, every breath a hymn. To live is to carry both time and eternity within us.” “My silence is not empty — it is a womb where the universe blossoms.” “Reflection: Plant These Seeds Within You” . Life is always conceiving, constantly birthing, within time and beyond it. Every thought is a seed, every silence the soil, every breath the ...

MEDITATION: We need a sense of spaciousness and relaxation.  Many people think of meditation as hard work.  That is not meditation.  Meditation is learning how to let go of stress and striving.  We have to learn how to rest.  That is what we are doing here:  resting in the nature of mind. When we have reached the very peak of our exertion, when we have expended every ounce of energy we have, we reach a point where we simply take a deep breath and sit down. When we allow our-self to wholly let go and relax in that moment, our mind becomes completely non-conceptual. We do not have a thought in our head; body and mind start to calm down and loosen up, and yet we are not distracted. There is a sense of being fully present and appreciating that moment. Moreover, it is the same whether we are a human being or another form of sentient being. { Hindu- Muslim-Buddhist and any other } The nature of mind is the same. I...

We died the day we were born (Zen)

1)---EXERCISE: Take a moment to be aware of your current state.  Now, imagine that yesterday you died.  You are exactly where you are right now,  only you are dead.  Nothing has changed,  except that you are dead.  Everything that you do from here on out  is the action of a dead person  – it means nothing.  Try as you might,  your actions have no effect.  Your touch is that of a ghost,  your mightiest efforts like  a soft breeze         2)---EXERCISE: Your friends call your name,  but as you reach out to them,  you see that they too are ghosts.  All that you hold dear,  is like a storybook  – it existed,  but was made to be set aside        3)---EXERCISE: In all the universe,  there is only you.  Utterly powerless to even cast a shadow upon...
