Lighter Than the Sky: The Day I Let Go of My Own Experiences

What does freedom feel like when nothing from the past needs to be carried?

I can love deeply, fall deeply, learn deeply—and still remain free.

Lighter Than the Sky: The Day I Let Go of My Own Experiences

A conversation with myself about wisdom, folly, freedom, and the beautiful art of becoming carefree

After a long time, I spoke to myself today.

I said,

“Listen here, Happy Lady—you are happy and content now. Start using your common sense. It is time to become wise and learn from your past follies.”

The moment I heard my own words, I began to laugh.

There was something wonderfully absurd about it. Here I was, sitting with myself, giving myself advice as though I were two different people: one trying to become wise and the other refusing to take life too seriously.

But as I laughed, my eyes slowly filled with tears.

And somewhere between the laughter and the tears, I felt an overwhelming love for myself.

I hugged myself.

Then I said:

“You love yourself deeply. You truly want to see yourself happy. You know that wisdom comes from profound experiences. So tell me—how many more profound experiences do you need?”

I paused.

Then I continued, almost scolding myself with affection:

“You don't even trust your own experiences, you crazy woman! So how could anyone else trust them? Tell me—what exactly are you waiting for?”

And then something unexpected happened.

I answered myself with complete nonchalance.

I did not argue.

I did not defend my past.

I did not try to prove that my experiences had made me wiser.

Instead, something within me simply said:

“I need to become wise for my own sake—not for anyone else's.”

And strangely, even the question of whether I trusted my own experiences no longer seemed important.

Because something else was growing within me.

Something quiet.

Something free.

Something carefree.

The Weight of Experience

We are often taught to hold on to our experiences.

We collect them.

We analyze them.

We turn them into lessons.

We carry our wounds as evidence of what life did to us and our wisdom as evidence of what we survived.

We say:

“This happened to me.”

“I learned from this.”

“This experience changed me.”

And perhaps all of that is true.

But today, I discovered something else.

Even an experience can become a burden when we continue carrying it after it has already completed its work within us.

Perhaps experience comes into our lives for a reason.

It shakes us.

Breaks something within us.

Opens a door.

Teaches us.

Changes our direction.

And then, one day, perhaps we must let it go.

Not because it was meaningless.

But because we have already received whatever it came to give.

The Day I Stopped Carrying My Past

Today, when I noticed the nonchalance in my own conversation, something shifted.

I suddenly felt that I no longer wanted to hold on to my experiences.

Not the painful ones.

Not the beautiful ones.

Not even the profound ones.

I did not want to preserve them as proof of who I had become.

And so, in that moment, I let them go.

I let go of the experiences that had taught me.

I let go of the follies that had embarrassed me.

I let go of the moments that had broken my heart.

I let go even of the experiences I once believed had made me wise.

And something extraordinary happened.

I became lighter.

Not lighter because my past had disappeared.

Not lighter because I had forgotten what happened.

But lighter because I no longer felt the need to carry it.

There is a difference.

The past may remain part of our story without becoming a weight on our shoulders.

Wisdom Does Not Need to Become Heavy

For so long, we may believe that wisdom must look serious.

That a wise person must carry the depth of every lesson.

That maturity means remembering every mistake.

That experience must be carefully preserved and continually examined.

But perhaps there is another kind of wisdom.

A wisdom that can laugh.

A wisdom that can cry.

A wisdom that can call itself foolish without shame.

A wisdom that can look at the entire journey and say:

“Yes, all of that happened. And now I am free.”

Perhaps wisdom is not about becoming heavier with knowledge.

Perhaps wisdom is the ability to become lighter after understanding.

To learn without becoming imprisoned by the lesson.

To experience without becoming identified with the experience.

To remember without constantly returning to the memory.

Happy Lady and the Art of Being Free

Today, I called myself Happy Lady.

Perhaps I said it jokingly.

But somewhere inside that joke was a recognition.

After everything, I am happy.

After all the questions, experiences, follies, discoveries, tears, and attempts to understand life—

something within me has become content.

And perhaps that is why I could finally laugh.

Because happiness did not come from proving that I had become wise.

It came from no longer needing to prove anything.

Not to the world.

Not to another person.

And perhaps not even to myself.

I do not need to convince anyone that my experiences were profound.

I do not need to trust every conclusion I once reached.

I do not need to carry every lesson as though my life depends upon remembering it.

Something has already happened within me.

Something is growing.

And whatever it is, it carries the fragrance of freedom.

Lighter Than the Sky

When I finally let go of my experiences, I felt lighter than the sky itself.

It was not an emptiness.

It was not indifference.

It was not forgetfulness.

It was vastness.

The kind of vastness that appears when we stop filling ourselves with everything that has happened to us.

Perhaps freedom begins there.

Not when life stops giving us experiences—

but when we stop turning every experience into something we must carry forever.

The sky does not hold on to yesterday's clouds.

A storm passes through it.

Rain falls.

Thunder arrives.

Then the sky opens again.

Perhaps the human mind, too, can learn this art.

To allow experiences to pass through.

To receive them completely.

To learn whatever they have come to teach.

And then—

to let them go.

Today, I spoke to myself.

I laughed.

I cried.

I hugged myself.

I called myself a crazy woman.

And somewhere in that playful, loving conversation, I discovered something I had perhaps been searching for without knowing it.

I do not have to become wiser by becoming heavier.

I can experience deeply.

I can love deeply.

I can fall deeply.

I can learn deeply.

And still—

I can remain free.

Perhaps this is what I call wisdom now.

Not the ability to carry the entire weight of my past.

But the courage to bow to it, thank it—

and let it go.

And so, today, Happy Lady walks forward a little differently.

Not empty.

Not forgetful.

Not untouched by life.

But free.

Lighter than the sky.

 Quotes

I do not have to become wiser by becoming heavier.

An experience becomes a burden when we continue carrying it after it has completed its work within us.

Wisdom is not always remembering every lesson; sometimes it is knowing when to let the lesson go.

I have lived, I have fallen, I have learned—and now, I am free

The past can remain a part of our story without remaining a weight upon our shoulders.

I no longer need my experiences to prove who I am.

To experience deeply is beautiful; to become imprisoned by the experience is unnecessary.

Perhaps wisdom is the ability to become lighter after understanding.

The sky does not hold on to yesterday's clouds. Why should I hold on to yesterday's storms?

I bowed to my past, thanked it for its lessons, and let it go.

Happy Lady finally understood: freedom does not require permission from the past.

I can love deeply, fall deeply, learn deeply—and still remain free.

Self-love began for me the day I stopped asking myself to become someone else.

Some experiences come to teach us; they do not come to live inside us forever.

Today, I became lighter—not because my past disappeared, but because I stopped carrying it.

Life is God experiencing Self

Thank you to Nature for the feelings she gave me,  the trees, mountains,  her many lakes and oceans,  for the sun sets of color,  the clouds that dance in the sky,  for everything she gives wanting nothing  but love in return!!! Thanks You to The world:  For all the good and bad people  I have encountered along the road,  for the lessons you taught me, even if they where bad,  it was still a good lesson to be learned  and for this I thank you... Blessings!!!

I experience myself as the conscious

'There is no "I" but I.' 'Then is there no "you" but you?' 'I, always I,' 'Gives me to think, I will meditate upon it.' 'Do nothing of the kind!'  'To "meditate" means using split-mind:  just look from within and see  - see  that so it Is!  Stop splitting and stay Whole!' Whatever we may be, we are being 'lived'.  We are not traveling, as we think:  we are being 'travelled'.

It is amazing how Infinite we are

When I wake up early and go for a walk early  enough to see the sunrise,  if I keep still and watch for a few minutes  I can actually enter in the moment of this movement.  In all my experience,  I become just Energetic aware that I am here,  standing at this special moment on the surface of this special spot;  and  this spot is going, going for away toward the stars  but very close to me,  then  galaxy, more stars,  more wonderful  - unique and amazing colors  then more universe, more and more billions miles away,  like before Jesus- before birth of this planet,  but close, more close, In me -  in myself.  And  this very moment experiencing the whole universe along with me,  in me  while I feel I am infinite  and  I am beyond the universe

O, My Naughty Shaheer! First, I see you. You are always in My sight. And then I guide you lightly. Sometimes strongly. I hold a sword of love, and with this sword, I vanquish all ills that never belonged in your heart in the first place. I vanquish ill will. I vanquish all that which is opposed to love. Beloveds, in My Presence, what can you do but love? What barrier to love can exist when you are surrounded by My love, and you sink into My love. You float on a raft o f My love. Where else would you want to be? Where else is there for you to be? There is nowhere else but right here right now with Me. Do not bow. Jump instead. God is with you. This is an occasion for joy. Be joy then and forevermore, for I am always with you, and you are always with Me. Oneness is Our lot! Oneness is Our fortune. Oneness is Our Reality. It is the only Reality that is. You and I are One Experience!!! Always Your from Heart, The Sprightliness
